The Institutional Pride of District Awards should follow these principles:

Merit

Recognition should reflect genuine institutional achievement.

Evidence

Important claims should be verifiable.

Transparency

Criteria and processes should be clearly communicated.

Independence

Evaluation should remain protected from improper influence.

No Pay-to-Win

Participation fee, donation, sponsorship, contribution or Veterans India association must never guarantee an award.

Quality

The number of awardees should remain appropriate to protect the value of the recognition.

The District-level evaluation panel may include suitable representatives such as:

Pride of District recognition does not automatically guarantee Pride of State recognition.

State-level evaluation must remain independent and merit-based.

The Institutional Pride of District Award is a recognition programme of Veterans India.

Unless formally documented for a particular edition, it should not be described as:
