The Social & Civic Awareness Wing of Veterans India promotes informed citizenship, civic responsibility, constitutional awareness, social harmony and constructive participation in community and national life.
The Wing is designed as the modern, apolitical evolution of the earlier Social and Political Awareness Wing, while preserving its core purpose of helping citizens understand public issues, democratic institutions and their responsibilities in society.
Veterans India believes that responsible citizenship requires not only rights, but also awareness, discipline, participation and respect for lawful institutions.
This is one of the most important principles of the Wing.
Veterans India seeks to help create citizens who are aware of their rights, conscious of their responsibilities and prepared to contribute constructively to society.
Participate in apolitical civic education, constitutional awareness, responsible digital citizenship, community service, youth civic leadership and lawful public-awareness programmes.
Register to participate in civic awareness, constitutional literacy, responsible digital citizenship, youth leadership, community service, public-policy awareness and apolitical civic-learning programmes.
Participation through Veterans India must not endorse or oppose any political party, candidate or electoral campaign.
